Lantern Roman Satyr of the Three Fires reproduction in terracotta,  1st - 2nd century AD

Terracotta oil lamp depicting a Satyr, an ancient male mythological representation and companion of Pan and Dionysus.

In religion Roman he is also known as Faun. Often imagined as being bearded, sometimes with horse hooves, addicted to wine and a great flute player.

 His depictions can be found in Hellenistic-Roman painting (such as the Satyr of the so-called Villa of Cicero in the National Museum of Naples and the frieze of the Villa dei Misteri in Pompeii).
