Triton was a marine deity of pre-Greek origin, companion of Poseidon and according to some myths he is recognized as his son. His figure was often represented as a man in the upper part of the body and with the lower part in the shape of a fish, with a shell-shaped horn that was used to calm storms and to summon the god of the sea.
Famous in Greek mythology because it helped Jason and the Argonauts to find their way home.
