The Head of Seneca or Pseudo-Seneca.

Bronze reproduction of the Roman bust from the end of the 1st century BC. discovered in Herculaneum in 1754 and preserved at the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

This is probably the portrait of Lucius Seneca, the famous Roman philosopher who, together with Agrippina, was the regent of the empire supported by Nero. Seneca's thought is based on the fact that the actions of politicians had to be influenced by the aristocracy to be brought to positive outcomes.

His stoicism is based on the idea that destructive emotions such as anger and pain must be removed, that wealth and virtue work hand in hand, and that one should not flee from difficulties. This detachment from the body that man can achieve, he calls it autarky (Self-sufficiency).
